[maxgallery name=”144-king-street-hotel”]Tucked away and partially hidden from view on three sides by brick cladded buildings, lies a 9,900 square foot site where a 132 room boutique hotel is set to rise. The property, designated with the 144 King Street address, is being built by developer David O’Keefe and will also include a first floor restaurant and bar. During a site visit we noticed perimeter shoring already in place with heavy machinery excavating earth and crumbling the remaining concrete foundations of a previous building.

Designed by Stanton Architecture, the 12 story hotel will have a traditional architecture intended to complement SoMa’s historically significant brick warehouses and industrial buildings. Judging by current progress, the building should be completed sometime near the end of 2016.
