Local DJs and dance troupes from California, Europe, and South America showcased a diverse mix of dance styles, music, and turntablism to an equally diverse audience. Many of the performances highlighted hip hop’s global reach and versatility including the bold steps of Zamounda Crew’s French all female dancers, Substance Over Hype’s b-boying to classical music, and Academy of Villains’ electronica inspired show stealing performance. Our only gripe with the show was the MuthaFunkers’ drawn out and excessive scratching of Rob Base’s classic hit song “It Takes Two”. The dance and music festival ran for three days from Friday, November 14th to Sunday, November 16th, 2014. For more information about the festival visit here.
