[maxgallery name=”iranian-film-festival-2014″]The 7th annual Iranian Film Festival was held last weekend at the San Francisco Art Institute’s main campus in Russian Hill. A variety of films were presented covering a multitude of topics, genres, and artistic styles. On Sunday we attended the screening of Trapped (Darband), a tense tale of two Iranian women involved in a twisted plot of naivety, deceit, and ultimately virtue. Interwoven through the main story, director Parviz Shahbazi offers glimpses of Iranian culture and life as the actors are seen enjoying kabobs, haggling for payments, and participating in student protests.
