[maxgallery name=”castro-street-fair-2014″]With cloudless blue skies overhead, people converged last Sunday to The Castro to celebrate the annual Castro Street Fair. Exhibitors lined the colorful streets of Castro, Market and 18th and presented attendees a diverse set of goods and services including collectibles, paintings, and massages. DJs filled parking lots with music, and performers entertained crowds with an ongoing schedule of stage shows. Clouds of smoke billowed above Market Street as food vendors grilled plumped sausages and other meats. By early afternoon the crowd was thickening and skies remained clear. In its 41st year, the LGBT street festival was originally started by Harvey Milk to delight crowds, promote local businesses, and attract outside customers.
