A recent walk by showed the Tishman Speyer owned 222 Second Street rapidly rising and now visible above street level. Ironworkers are busily welding and assembling the building’s all steel frame and have partially constructed the two subterranean parking levels and two above ground floors. The property has made news recently for Linkedin’s inclusive lease of all 26 of the building’s floors. The tower will be notable for its column free interior, exterior glass hung shingles, and LEED Gold achieving design. Architects Thomas Phifer, Heller Manus and Gensler have all been associated with the building’s design. Builder Turner Construction expects project completion in early 2016. Construction progress was covered last December and February of this year.
