[maxgallery name=”mission-bay-block-11-mb360″]In March, the city watched as flames ripped through a partially built 172 unit building complex on Mission Bay’s Block 5 parcel. The buildings, part of the MB360 complex, were laid to ash but successful firefighting spared similar fates to neighboring complexes including MB360’s second site on Block 11. Since the fire on Block 5, owner BRE Properties has continued Block 11’s construction cycle. We recently toured Block 11’s 188 unit residential complex and noticed considerable structural progress compared to a previous visit in January. On the block’s southern portion, the “Warehouse” and “Corner Tower” buildings are fully framed with work ongoing on the exterior facade. An interesting multi-level concrete staircase separates both buildings and leads to an outside courtyard designed by PGA Design. Gauging from current progress, Suffolk Construction should be able to complete these buildings by late fall or early winter of this year.
