A diverse set of organizations, institutions, and companies followed and displayed their support for the LGBT social movement using a varied set of colors, costumes, music and floats. The parade drew large crowds both along Market Street and near City Hall where the SF Pride Festival was concurrently underway. The event continued into late afternoon with crowds continuing to cheer marching contingents. The parade is managed by the San Francisco Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender Pride Celebration Committee and has been held annually since 1970.
